The Meindl Vakuum Lady Sento is a high quality hill-walking boot that incorporates Meindl Vakuum technologies to provide a personalised fit and superb comfort.
Following tradition, the Vakuum Sento is constructed by hand using the finest quality waxed nubuck leather, giving durability whilst maintaining suppleness. A protective rubber toe bumper enhances protection when walking on all terrains. The Meindl Vakuum technology provides a Memory Foam System throughout the uppers and footbed, using body heat to mold to your foot and give you a customised fit. This provides support and comfort whilst reducing pressure on the Achilles when walking downhill. The lacing system provides a secure heel fit and removes any heel lift which could cause discomfort. Equipped with a GORE-TEX membrane to guarantee waterproofing, an Air-Active footbed for breathability, and a Meindl Magic Lite Trail rubber sole for excellent grip, this walking boot is suitable for hill-walking all year-round.
The Sento is a lighter weight version of the popular Vakuum GTX.
We know our customers like to know exactly what they're buying; we're not going to sugar coat it, but we are going to explain it. We've divided up all of the sustainable features we've identified across our product ranges and grouped them into three so you know how your purchase is making an impact: Think Nature, Think Welfare, Think People.
The Meindl Women's Vakuum Lady Sento - Blue has the following sustainability attributes...
Leather production has a significant impact on the planet, using excessive amounts of water and polluting it with harmful chemicals. Certain organisations and producers are making efforts to reduce the environmental impact of leather production on the planet, such as non-profits like the Leather Working Group, who have been auditing the leather manufacturing process from tanneries to retailers since 2005, and Perwanger, a quality leather producer prioritizing the environment
Products using natural fibres can range from cotton to wool to hemp and silk - but by being naturally made, they will also naturally biodegrade at their end of lifecycle. Even if you have a natural fibre product, it can probably still be recycled or repurposed before being disposed of. However, if it truly has reached the end of its use, natural fibres need air to biodegrade so please don't dispose of them in landfill.
Keeping our items in circulation for longer is key to reducing environmental impact, and resoling your shoes/boots when the soles start wearing out can help you to hang onto them when there's otherwise a lot of life left in them. This pair can be resoled by the supplier - get in contact with the brand directly to organize a resole, or check out our recommended repair specialists.
This brand manufactures over 80% of its products in the country of its headquarters, which has many benefits both for the environment and for workers. Local production means less CO2 emissions, more control over working conditions, and helps to boost the local economy.
