Trek Dual Sport+ 2 - 2023 - Galactic Grey

The Dual Sport+ is an easy-to-use, electric hybrid bike for exploring beyond paved roads. The Alpha Gold Aluminium frame has relaxed geometry with enough weight on the hands for great cornering confidence without sacrificing the comfortable, upright riding position. A kickstand comes fitted as standard but mudguards, and a pannier rack can be fitted to the bike with ease for ultimate commuting utility. The frame is shared with the FX+ but crucially the DS+ is fitted with 650B wheels with wider tyres for more nimble handling and more comfort.

The drive system is lightweight and provides gentle pedal assist, so it feels like you have a tailwind everywhere you go. The hub motor is great for improving component lifespan because less force goes through the drivetrain. A torque sensor in the bottom bracket ensures that the electric boost is delivered smoothly, so it feels more natural and easy to control. Choose from 3 levels of assistance to maximise power, range or compromise between the two. The 250Wh battery is integrated into the downtube and provides a range of up to 56km. This can be extended with the addition of a booster battery that mounts on the downtube and doubles the range. The integrated lights are bright enough to keep you visible during the day and light up the road ahead if you're riding on unlit streets at night. The best bit is that they are wired into the main battery so you can never forget to charge them!

Wide 50mm tyres with a slick centre tread roll quickly and quietly on pavement but the cornering tread will keep you on track when taking bends on dirt roads and cycle paths. The high-volume tyres really soak up all the little bumps in the road for a super smooth ride so you can take the Dual Sport+ beyond the tarmac. The 1x9 Shimano Altus drivetrain is reliable and easy to use with a big enough range for getting about the city or exploring cycleways. Hydraulic disc brakes provide reliable stopping power, even in the wet.
