The Meindl Meran GTX walking boot is designed as part of the Comfort-Fit range for hikers with slightly wider feet.
Boasting 300 years of skilled shoemaking, Meindl introduced the Comfort-Fit range to provide a supportive, easy fit with an enhanced natural rolling movement. The uppers are made from Nubuck leather with wax providing a durable exterior. Paired with a GORE-TEX lining the boot is fully waterproof and protective in all conditions. The Comfort-Fit footbed is made from cork with a cushioning fleece lining and is wider at the front of the boot in both width and height. The wider base means more surface area to stand on giving more support than the standard footbed, more capacity for movement and reduced pressure. The Meran GTX is complete with Meindl Comfort Hiker sole guaranteeing a strong grip on a variety of surfaces.
Ideal for light hikes and trails.
We know our customers like to know exactly what they're buying; we're not going to sugar coat it, but we are going to explain it. We've divided up all of the sustainable features we've identified across our product ranges and grouped them into three so you know how your purchase is making an impact: Think Nature, Think Welfare, Think People.
The Meindl Men's Meran GTX - Brown has the following sustainability attributes...
Leather production has a significant impact on the planet, using excessive amounts of water and polluting it with harmful chemicals. Certain organisations and producers are making efforts to reduce the environmental impact of leather production on the planet, such as non-profits like the Leather Working Group, who have been auditing the leather manufacturing process from tanneries to retailers since 2005, and Perwanger, a quality leather producer prioritizing the environment
Products using natural fibres can range from cotton to wool to hemp and silk - but by being naturally made, they will also naturally biodegrade at their end of lifecycle. Even if you have a natural fibre product, it can probably still be recycled or repurposed before being disposed of. However, if it truly has reached the end of its use, natural fibres need air to biodegrade so please don't dispose of them in landfill.
This brand manufactures over 80% of its products in the country of its headquarters, which has many benefits both for the environment and for workers. Local production means less CO2 emissions, more control over working conditions, and helps to boost the local economy.
